Program Overview
The Summer Course 2026 offers an immersive experience in Indonesian language and culture. Over two months, participants engage in structured classes, hands-on cultural workshops, and excursions exploring Indonesia’s rich heritage and natural beauty.
Only $500 (for minimum 8 participants) within 2 months.
1. Indonesian Language Class Package
Participants will engage in 50 hours of Indonesian language instruction across 25 sessions in two months. The classes are taught by four instructors (two main lecturers and two assistants) in airconditioned, comfortable classrooms.
2. Traditional Dance Class Package
Under the guidance of professional dancers, participants receive 12 hours of training exploring traditional dance movements and meanings.
3. Traditional Music Class Package
Students learn to play traditional instruments, particularly the gamelan, in 8 hours of guided practice sessions.
4. Wayang–Gamelan Workshop
Participants visit a Wayang (shadow puppet) studio, observe puppet craftsmanship, and enjoy hands-on sessions combining Wayang and Gamelan performances.
5. Culinary Class Package
Held in Ngawonggo Village (Old Javanese Village), participants learn to prepare traditional Javanese dishes using local ingredients and techniques.
6. . Batik Class Package
Experience batik-making firsthand in a local gallery during a 4-hour session, learning waxing, dyeing, and pattern creation.
7. Tutorial Session
Each international participant is paired with a local peer tutor for language practice and cultural exchange through scheduled tutorials outside class.
8. Bromo Excursion Package
Enjoy the sunrise at Mount Bromo and learn about the Tenggerese people, an indigenous community living in the highlands.
9. Beach Excursion Package
Explore marine ecosystems and participate in mangrove forest conservation while gaining environmental awareness.
10. Opening and Closing Program
The program begins and ends with art performances by students, celebrating their learning journey and cultural experiences.
11. Book and Souvenir Package
Participants receive a starter kit including a textbook, tumbler, bag, and stationery set.
